Sigma Squad

Ground-Based Agility Training

Sigma Squad is a program led by a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) designed to promote the athletic development of youth athletes (8-18yrs old) through evidence-based methods. Team by team, or in groups up to 18, athletes will train along with their peers through various drills designed to increase or aid strength, rate of force development (power), sprinting and turning mechanics, cognitive processing (agility), and to reduce the risk of sport-related injury.

Sigma’s training sessions are 90 minutes long which ensures ample time for proper warm ups, hydration breaks, drills, and cool downs / flexibility training. These sessions will typically take place on a ground surface similar to the sport for which you are training (soccer = grass, basketball/volleyball = hardwood, etc).

Complete adherence to Sigma Squad’s program (at least 2 sessions/wk for at least 6 weeks) is necessary to stimulate the adaptation that will allow the athlete to improve their performance. Sport specific assessments will be taken and recorded at the beginning and end of every program to create a report for each athlete to demonstrate their specific improvements.

Please be sure to come prepared with:

  • Water

  • Proper footwear (cleats, indoor shoes)

  • A simple sugar snack (like a granola bar)
